District Community Outcomes
Each
of the three districts in the Eastern Bay of Plenty have worked with their
communities to come up with their own district community outcomes.
·
Kawerau District community outcomes.
·
Opotiki District community outcomes.
·
Whakatane District community outcomes.
Community Outcomes are the
things that define the future of our district. Community Outcomes are not
Council outcomes, but belong to the community. Council will work with other
agencies and the community to make the outcomes happen.
The
process to identify community outcomes between October 2004 and June 2005 has
included stakeholder forums, public meetings in each of the three districts,
hui, feedback forms to all households, and visits to public places, backed up
by a public awareness marketing campaign.
At the
beginning of the process in November and December 2004 we held four stakeholder
forums and a hui.
Summaries of
the draft community outcomes identified at these forums are available to view
here:
In October 2004, prior to the four forums and hui, we sent out a questionnaire to all stakeholders asking for their initial views on where our communities should be heading. We asked them to think about things like the strengths, weaknesses, trends and actions that affect the quality of life in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. A summary of the responses we received can be viewed here.
